An unprecedented look into the past

Sometimes the most fascinating stories aren’t new, they’re just waiting to be rediscovered. That was our starting point when we were approached by meemoo, the Flemish Institute for Archives.

They had a unique challenge: to launch hetarchief.be, a digital treasure trove making over a million pages of Flemish newspaper history accessible to the public. Our mission was to put this incredible project in the spotlight and prove that history is anything but boring.

With the launch of hetarchief.be, the public gained access to over 900 titles and 180,000 editions published between 1814 and 2008. Imagine finding advertisements for miracle ointments, old dialects or perhaps even an article about your own family, all in one place! This collection is a goldmine for students, journalists and anyone with a healthy dose of curiosity.

Bringing the past into the present

Behind the scenes, we developed a comprehensive PR strategy to bring this impressive archive to a wider audience. The results speak for themselves. Our hard work paid off with fantastic media coverage. Thanks to positive features in major outlets like VTM, VRT and De Morgen, the launch of hetarchief.be reached a broad audience, giving this rich archive the attention it deserved.
